The story of Selah’s Heart began on January 21st, 2021 when Selah Veta Walker made her entrance into the world. Her parents, Josh and Lauren welcomed her into their arms knowing her soul had already gone to be with Jesus. It was through this unimaginable loss that Lauren, along with her friend, Carolyn, began to explore what it means to grieve well, find community, and hold to a hope that goes beyond what is seen.

During this season they saw the need for a more robust grief support system for moms both in the hospital and once they arrived home. They began building hospital boxes for parents filled with items to help them remember their babies and honor their lives. They shared their story and their small hospital box operation turned into full fledged nonprofit, thanks to generous donations from their community.

Today, Lauren and Carolyn are helping anchor other mom’s who have also experienced the turmoil of pregnancy and infant loss, while empowering the communities surrounding bereaved moms to stay actively involved and present in the discomfort of grief. Seeing to it that no mama feels alone and no baby is ever forgotten.

About Selah’s Heart

“Selah’s Heart has provided unexpected healing through text discussions and support- I never imagined hearing from women I don’t know. This resource has provided a way to be honest, transparent, and relate to others experiencing similar trauma.

The grief process is never the way you plan it but Selah’s Heart helped me continue to seek Christ’s comfort through suffering and never lose hope that only he provides. Selah’s Heart is truly a blessing and I am so thankful to have been told about these women!”
